What could TSA provide to challenge that claim? If TSA produces video, then people will complain that TSA videotapes "private" screening. If TSA can't produce video, all they can produce is the testimony of the people in the room ... which is what we have right now (the word of the TSOs against the word of the passenger). Neither side can "prove" their case.

It certainly is not a hardship or difficult for a TSO to inquire and certainly would have prevented this spotlight on the incident.
People only ask for clarification when they're uncertain. If the TSO was confident that the passenger said "money belt", there's no reason for the TSO to ask again. If anything, repeatedly asking would annoy the heck out of passengers ... like how passengers are annoyed when they have to say their name out loud to multiple TDCs/BDOs in line.
In short: people who are wrong rarely know they are wrong. That's pretty typical, actually; people who know they're wrong will take the effort to figure out the problem and correct their error.

And that is exactly why Bob deserves the moniker "Blogdad Bob."
There are legitimate debates surrounding how one interprets the facts at hand. Clearly, Bob is an advocate for TSA's interpretation of those facts --- just as many here are advocates for opposing interpretations. I think we can engage in that debate without name-calling.
Of course, I'm an eternal optimist.
