I live in north Los Angeles County. One a good day it's just over an hour between my house and LAX. On a bad day, shudder, it could take much longer.

I always allow plenty of time to get to LAX. I don't mind getting there early, in fact, it's better for my blood pressure to be there in plenty of time.

My suggestion to the OP: Get yourself a member+spouse airline club membership. Then, lure her to the airport early with tales of a comfy lounge and beautiful restrooms.
