On the other hand, American carriers have cabin crew that shout at you if you even stand near the loo waiting for it to become available, citing terrorism and FAA rules as their reason for sending you down to your seat. Even after a strong curry I don't feel my loo visits constitute terrorism but there we go.

I tell you what, when you get the FAA to be sensible, we'll try getting the CAA to be sensible. I for one quite enjoy the fact mobile phones are verboten on air craft as I get increasingly impatient with people who think are so important that 5 minutes extra time on a phone/blackberry or whatever is going to change the world.
