Monopoly indeed, because if you take Japan airlines instead, you have to transfer from NRT to HND by train before you connect to Sapporo which is quite a hassle.

Monopoly is really bad for the consumer because the seller can dictate a high price and still have demand.

I'll be in a deeply discounted Y in G booking class actually, as I will be in a packaged tour group of around 40 pax organized by a travel agent... it's my way of beating that outrageous fare via volume/wholesale discount.

I rather fly CX long haul to Europe/US/Canada/Australia for the same price rather than buying an individual non discounted Sapporo ticket
So UO's HKG-CTS flights don't count? And JAL has NRT-CTS flights which allow flight to/from HKG to make the same day connection, you don't need to do a NRT-HND land transfer at all.
