Is there an explanation for this, or was it a random IT glitch?
2 passengers, same flights, same date, but booked separately. Both had "upgrade requested" from time of reservation.
Passenger A Diamond, AmEx Reserve, K fare = No upgrade
Passenger B Platinum, L fare = Upgrade at 5 day window (6 days actually). After upgrade, expert flyer showed V0.
Going by the upgrade priority I've seen here on FT, I do not understand this.
Only differences:
- Passenger A booked 2 days later than passenger B. (So time of booking is the key factor? I thought it was a tiebreaker)
- Passenger A's ticket was purchased by a travel agent on behalf of
fedl govt agency, at a lower price than Passenger B's L fare. (Does amount paid matter more than fare class?)
By the way I am passenger B and passenger A is my spouse, so I know this is accurate. This is a regional jet flight, so the upgrade is no big deal. But I was so surprised, and wondered if anyone could explain.
At T-6, did Passenger A's reservation when viewed on DL.com say "Upgrade Requested" or "Upgrade Eligible"?
When was Passenger A's ticket booked? Was it at T-5?
