In the past year and a half since I became a *G member I have flown all over on Star Alliance partners, from China and Korea, to England, Lebanon and Germany, always getting a Priority tag for my bags.

I flew US Air from PDX to DCA two days ago and the agent when I checked in in PDX priority tagged my bag as usual.

Today as I am flying out of DCA the agent said, NOPE only first class gets a priority tag. When I clarified and reasked he said, no First Class only. Then he reluctantly put my priority tag on lengthwise instead of across the tag, probably a signal to unload my bag last.

Has anyone else encountered this with US Air? I rarely fly with US Air, but did not buy my ticket for this trip.

I have flown multiple other partner airlines and have been treated just as UA treats my Premier Executive status.
