For a family reunion event, my chosen HIX set up a group discount code, and ran bulk reservations under my name/PC#, with the "guest name" feature -- each 'room' presented their individual charge-card @ check in.

End result, with promo pile-ons = metric dumpster-loads of points for me. (Which were eventually turned into 'AnyHotel' gift cards -- but that's another story. )
