Gilt changed their terms and your purchase occurred either before or after the change. If before, you'll get your miles, even if at worst you have to follow up with them. I don't see how that is akin to changing/charging something different than what was promised.

Your point is fair. I agree they should make the minimum purchase clear. However, there's plenty of precedent about what is sufficient notice. If you decide not to read the T&Cs and they are readily available, then you assume the risk involved. It would be different if they were promising 1500 miles for "any purchase" and then buried the $25 min requirement.

This is not a delay or an error, so your experience isn't quite the same.
This is a change in the earnings posted very quickly after the initial offer.
I'll make a deal with you - if they post automatically**, I'll give you the $15 I paid. If they don't post automatically, you'll give me $15.
**We'll consider by end of year as "posted automatically".
I appreciate your offer, but note that I didn't claim that every offer posts "automatically". When a company makes an offer that is more lucrative than they intended, if often requires follow up. I said that it isn't difficult in most cases to get them to honor a contract, as you have simple recourse to make them, and they don't want to risk the fallout. I'd be willing to bet I have my miles from Gilt within a month of the end of the stated posting period. I won't spend much time dealing with it. I'll wait a few weeks, and if they don't show up, simply send my documentation of the offer and my purchase via a simple email to the right channel. Over and done with, just as happens with many of the other cases you cite.
