Does this constitute rudeness from CC?

Flew BA to Mauritius a few days ago. It's a long flight and I was desperate to get my head down and sleep. But before I could, one incident caught my attention which made me a little uncomfortable.

Sitting in WTP, front row, just after the late evening meal. A guy from the row behind me gets up and heads towards the curtain in front of us. Suddenly, as if sensing he was there, some middle-aged battleaxe type (Aisle Dragon?) blocks his way and abruptly asks "Can I help you?" - not with a smile but what looked to me like a bit of menace. Something I found very unusual on a BA flight.

The passenger says he is heading to the washroom, only to be met with the response "You can't. You have to go to the back. These people [gesturing to Cub World behind her] paid good money for their seats and you need to head to the back."

The passenger said something about the trolley, which was still going down the aisle, blocking his way to rear washrooms. To which she responded "I can't let you through here. These people have paid good money for their seats." now raising her voice so everyone in WTP could clearly hear.

Passenger then turned around and went the other way. He was with his family, including a very young baby, and was looking tired and resigned. While his back was turned and he was walking away she again said something about "These people paid good money."

Now watching this I was very uncomfortable for several reasons. Firstly, I'm not sure it's such a big deal for someone from WTP to use the bathrooms in Club. I've seen it happen lots of times when I was in Club and never gave it a second thought. Secondly, I thought a CC loudly going on about how much money passengers have paid was incredibly vulgar and was, implicitly, putting down everyone sitting in WTP for not buying Cub tickets. Thirdly, for all she knew, this guy may have paid more for his seat than many people sitting in Club thanks to the complicated ticket-pricing system airlines use.

Needless to say, it soured the atmosphere in WTP and no-one dared try and head forward throughout that long, long flight.

I did think the rest of the CC were absolutely wonderful, which is what I expect from any BA flight anyway. It was just this one incident that made me uncomfortable. Is this normal for BA flights and I've just not seen this kind of thing happen before? Or was the CC being rude to the passenger?
