In my opinion The Fairmont is the best hotel in Abu Dhabi centre.
The Yas is fun but out near the airport at Yas Island, a very good hotel though.
We stayed at both in October this year.

The Anantara Qasr Al Sarab gets rave reviews and it is about an hour from the city centre.
