Of the four speeding tickets I've received in 49 years of driving, Switzerland in 1982 was memorable.
We'd been driving in various parts of Germany, France, and Austria, and 120 kph just seemed, well, slow, since I was used to a prudent 130 or so, with our three young children in the back seat.
We were flagged down about 40 km out of Basel, where I was dropping the car off, and the officer indicated we would pay on the spot.
I was very impressed although not all that pleased

with the Swiss efficiency as he methodically told us the exchange rates for the Canadian and US dollars we were carrying.
We still have the receipt in a scrapbook somewhere.
