If a *A Gold card was not registered when the BP was printed, the bar code does not reflect that you are *A Gold and the doors will not open. This is a new (enhanced?) feature of the new TK lounge at IST. The agents at the entrance of the lounge will not open the doors manually for you, so you would never have gotten into the lounge area unless you received a new BP reflecting you LH*G status.
