With due respect, saying that pilots cause more crash than they prevent is utter nonsense. Pilots overwhelmingly do their jobs properly and competently.
Your logic is flawed. I can produce an almost endless list where tomatoes did not crash an aircraft yet this does not prove the flying abilities of tomatoes.

By now we have a very extensive track record of computers flying unmanned aircraft and it is pretty good.

Currently passenger aircraft are not build to fly completely on autopilot (although some of them do not really need pilots). If the aviation industry would think that passengers would accept pilotless aircraft they could have one in the sky in less than a decade.
