Further to add: I had a discussion with the very nice Dutch GM about the two LMs in the region: He said "Khao Lak is a resort, we are a factory". And he is right. If you expect a typical Thai style place with nice little villas, go to KL. The LM in Phuket is a huge place, more the American type of resort, plenty of restaurants, plenty of rooms and hundreds of guests. I liked the place primarily because of the room facing the ocean, but do not expect a tiny romantic resport
