Looks like this hotel needs someone to speak about it. I'm happy to say that I was happy with my stay there.
This was my first hotel stay in Dallas. I always seem to be connecting there, but never staying there.
The outside of the hotel is old, but the inside is very fresh. The lobby is nice with coffee on a table opposite of the registration desk. Registration was smooth. No room upgrade, but I got the requested higher floor and there was a bottle of water on the desk for me. I believe there are nine floors and I was on the seventh.
The lobby opens up into the restaurant/bar. While I did not eat or drink there, it looked like a good place to be with at least one big screen TV.
My room was a standard king bed room. I have no complaints about the decor. The bathroom was small with a tub/shower that showed its age. However, the water pressure was good. The bed was a sleepnumber bed. The TV was a nice, fairly large flat screen. The heater/AC was controlled by a thermostat on the wall.
The view out my window was rather bland. I couldn't see the Dallas skyline. I had a great view of the highway.

I don't know what I would have seen if I'd been on the other side of the building. I believe I was facing South.
Would I stay there again? Yes, if I needed to be in that area. Though I wouldn't drive out of my way to stay there, I would not hesitate to recommend it to a friend needing to stay in the SMU area.
