does the A380 then bring anything to the table?
It brings a moderate reduction in carbon emissions per seat, and would be very modestly useful if an airline can fill the seats - on the order of $5 per seat per round-trip EWR-FRA as a back-of-the-envelope calculation if $25/tonne prices hold.
