I'm female, not hugely young, and generally travel by myself. I've never noticed that I'm treated any differently from male passengers, had any issues with coats been taken, getting attention, etc. My one very minor gripe on my most recent flight was that cabin crew kept calling me Mrs (choirgirl), I presume having mis-read Ms.
