Recently flew G3 from GIG-GRU, and the system also allowed me to input my AA# without problems. Never got credit for the flight. Checked the AAdvantage rules, and surprise! - G3 flights must be booked as an AA codeshare to get AA miles.

Only lost 500 miles on this one, but darn these rules!
