My close friend is a bank officer with Citibank. She told me NOT to activate my new, "regular" (ie...NON AA miles) Citi debit card (that I received as a replacement for my miles debit card) for another month (until 1/9/12), because Citi is going to "give" customers another full month (a "grace period" if you will) before the Citi AA debit card will actually start getting declined. She said if the card goes through...you get the miles. I'm going to take her at her word and use the card after 12/9. I'll keep this thread posted regarding whether my card continues to be accepted; and of course, if I continue to get miles.
