OP - I agree its frustrating and I would write to the GM and let them know your dissatisfaction.

In this case the only thing you can really do is show your displeasure by not staying at the property again. I would also suggest you may want to update the master thread for this property letting other people know of this situation and you could also update tripadvisor, etc.. At least this way other people may not find themselves in the same situation.

As borofergie indicates. This is America and you have every right to exercise your 1st Amendment rights and let others know to be aware of this.
