I agree; I see more of myself choosing flights as oneworld overall instead of a particular airline name. I particular choose JAL over ANA when traveling domestically within Japan, moreso because of the convenience that my AA EXP status equivalates to OW Emerald, allowing for equivalent benefits as JAL elites get.
Anyone else's thoughts into this perspective?
Couldn't agree more. I've changed my bio here on FT from "AA EXP" to "oneworld emerald (AA EXP)" a few years ago, after the erosion in quality of AA.
Personally I feel more and more that I am a member of the AAdvantage program of
oneworld, less and less that I am a member of the frequent flyer program of AA. Airline quality is very important when shopping for travel, but I'll always give the edge to a
oneworld one over one that is not.
