Le Touquet is indeed lovely, but you need the right weather for that stretch of coast!

If you can be bothered with the drive, there's Amiens down the road. Breathtaking cathedral, good food, nice canal-based old town, decent shopping area, and, of you have time, some impressive floating allotments. It's good and compact, too.
