I was planning on asking about status matches for my team to Hertz this week. I'm mad enough I might be the one status matching for next year.

What did they do? Did they arrange to rebook you with another company? I know for a fact that most of the other brands had plenty of cars (at way-better-than-Hertz-rates, too--Hertz ANC always prices ridiculously high) available this week (and have ever since AFN ended in October).
SUVs (and cars with studded tires, for the couple of companies that do carry those) have been in high demand due to the inclement weather we've been having, but regular cars have not been a problem for the last couple of months.
