I think it would be helpful too, as both programs have very different strengths. BA is
really easy to qualify for if you fly TATL in WT+ or higher. It also lets you upgrade to Club World very affordably. AA miles are great for non-BA metal redemptions and AA allows domestic upgrades, but AA is bad for international upgrades, and makes it much harder for premium travelers to earn status.
For me, I choose Aadvantage, as I like getting upgraded domestically and I can transfer in MR points for my TATL upgrade from WT+ to CW. I would only switch to EC if (1) my travel dropped to the point that I wouldn't make PLT, but would be able to make BA Silver, or if I moved to my company's UK office--AA award redemptions beat BA award redemptions generally, but BA award redemptions on BA metal are better value than AA redemptions.
