I don't fly UA much especially in domestic first class. On Sunday I noticed a metal curtain was used to keep us first class pax at bay when a flight deck crew member came out to visit the lav or when a FA handed meals to the pilots. It could not look worse if it were topped with barbed wire. I guess it is easier that the old method of blocking passage with a couple of upturned beverage carts.
How long have they had this? I have not seen it on American or Delta.
