If you want to do touristy things, then Sofitel Hyland can't be beat for reasons TheShis had mentioned. It's very centrally located and equi-distant to both the Bund and the People's Square. Underground rail station is a few minutes' walk. Try to book a suite if you can. The lead-in rooms are dire and they have no concrete plans to refresh them (at least that's the impression I got from the emails with the GM). They will upgrade you upon request, don't expect any instant recognition upon presenting the card though. The club lounge is all right, busy but spacious enough.
