A word of warning: I was expecting miles from my recent trip to Shanghai to show up in my BD account but found them in my LH account instead. What happened? My travel agent had entered my BD silver number when booking. To access the TK lounge at IST I used my LH Gold card (as I wouldn't have gotten in with my silver BD card). Using BD blue/silver for mile accrual and LH Gold for lounge access is something I've done with various airlines (LH, OS, OZ) and it has always worked. Not this time: the lounge attendant changed my FF card from BD to LH without even telling me. As a result the miles ended up in the wrong account. When I called TK they told me that it is their policy to change FF numbers if a pax can't get in with their original status but presents a Gold card from a different *A FFP. Fair enough, but they could have WARNED me, right? Had I known that entering the lounge changes the FF programme to which my miles are going I would have stayed clear of the lounge altogether.
Whom would you approach to get the miles transferred from LH to BD? LH, BD or TK? Do you think my request will be met? Thanks, ps
