I think that would be a fair title - I did not fly CO when Bethune ran the airline - but I believe it probably was a different airline than it was when it came into the merger. I think the problem for PMUA folks is that many of us heard from PMCO folks about the Bethune CO and which had already been gone for a few years - and PMUA was compared to that CO - (which would be during the last UA bankrupcy) - so it was not a fair comparison - PMUA the last few years was a better airline than PMCO under Jeff - and so the damage did to CO Jeff is now doing to UA -

Now maybe this is necessary to make a dollar (I think the capacity cuts are and matching the right plane to the right route) - HOWEVER - most of the other changes to MP and policy and procedure were not, are not, and will not be done based on best business decision. They are sort term money makers that long term will hurt the brand. They tend to reflect selecting the CO process because that is what is known. It reflects placing the UA name on the CO product - Had they left the small tulip in font of the new united livery I think this would have been a different metaphor for the merger instead the livery has really become the merger metaphor - where the name is slapped on CO.
