maybe the OP wants enough miles to book an entire F cabin return to SYD someday (yes, I know this can't happen really) - would be one heck of a target though...

Like others I have a minimum balance below which I start getting nervous (in case I need to do some last minute travel where miles/avios are brilliant), after that I spend where I can and it makes sense
