Warning: lobby, bar, and restaurant closed through 3/12

I'm staying at the W Seattle now, and have to say I'm disappointed (particularly after staying at the far nicer W's in Fort Lauderdale, Dallas, and Austin in the past few weeks). The rooms (I had a fabulous) feel a bit tired and aren't particularly "cool". Other than the glass sink, the bathroom is what I'd expect of a Four Points. I also discovered that the toilet kept running and wouldn't flush (it wasn't clogged, it just didn't flush at all). Someone fixed it once, but it quickly started running again. I didn't receive a newspaper either of the past two days and my closet lacked a laundry bag and price list as well as any shoe shine information. A request for the Acura service to take me 4.8 miles away was declined as outside the hotel's service area.

Potentially more concerning, the entire first floor, including The Living Room, restaurant, and bar closed yesterday for renovations and will remain closed through at least March (staff are openly doubtful renovations will be completed on time). The hotel has created a temporary restaurant and tiny bar on the second level, but it's quite bare-bones and there's really no lobby of any sort to sit in. As a bar tender just said to two people having a drink here: "I feel bad charging people the prices we charge so they can drink in a hallway."

For now, I recommend avoiding the property.
