If you just use his credit card at check in, you should receive Diamond benefits for both rooms. You could change the name on the folio upon checkout, but then you won't receive points. If it's just about bennies, it's easy enough to log onto the internet with your room number and last name plus you get breakfast for two...
I'm NOT suggesting to game the system (and really a few points to a Diamond should not be significant to go through this trouble), but change the name on the room, get a printed folio, and change the name/HHonors# back to yours.
