Gosh. This is not at all what I wanted this thread to be, and I am now deleting the contents of the lead post.

Just to clarify my original intention:

1) I mostly just wanted to publicly state that I miss PremEx here on Flyertalk;

and 2) I wish I had chewed on fallinasleep's post from last December more thoroughly at that time. If I had I might have contributed less to the flaming and more to the defense of the real issues at hand, e.g., the viability of Flyertalk, not to mention the folks who made Flyertalk the superlative site that it is (or was). The removal of access to PremEx's Unofficial United Help Desk is a major casuality of the actions here of late. Perhaps I contributed to its removal, and if so, I'm sorry I did.
