For Mrs PtF and myself no BA experience will ever beat the sense of overwhelming relief we felt on Friday 4 February 2011 upon climbing the stairs to reach the Upper Deck sanctuary of BA154 CAI-LHR.

What is normally a 20-25 minute journey from our apartment turned into a frankly terrifying 90+ minute ordeal - through numerous roadblocks, document checks, luggage inspections, etc as nervous Egyptian men armed with guns, machetes and other threatening weapons, manned checkpoints while trying to protect their neighbourhoods from attack following a complete breakdown in law and order.

Among the only three other UD passengers on the flight was Jon Snow - I had an interesting 10 minute chat with him during the flight.
