Yes, the response is a correct one. I hope that in 2012, CR-1s can be used to upgrade HNL flights any domestic flight.

Also, keep in mind that not all HNL flights to CA are upgradeable on CO despite what the website says. I was on a HNL-SFO flt two days ago on a CO 767 that was branded as a "businessfirst" flight and, as a result, was not able to use a CR-1.

I called three different agents and talked to one supervisor and they all said I could upgrade only with a SWU unless it was a higher fare economy tkt.
