You can purchase up to 10,000 and the excess will rollover, so you might want to consider buying more than you need as there is no guarantee that miles can be purchased next year. IIRC the Hilton promo gives spendable miles too, but the buy some and SC offers are PURELY MQMs, so much less cost effective than a good MR.
