How do you pronounce 'Avios'? And what's its plural?

Presumably the name 'Avios' was dreamed-up during a heady brainstorming session (in London? Madrid?), and then approved by a number of focus groups around the globe.

I guess that one should assume that 'Avios' rhymes with the Spanish word 'adios'. But then again the first syllable could rhyme with 'gravy' and the second with 'gross'! Etc. We need to be told by the powers that be so as not to cause embarrassment.

... And what about the plural? Am I now the proud holder of 90,000 Avios; or of 90,000 Avioses?
