I've had this happen a couple times. You have to checkin at the airport AFAIK. And the self-service machines won't work. But when you ask for help from the grouch behind the desk, they scold you to use the self-service machines. And insist on watching you fail again. Then they'll pound on the keyboard for a while and eventually give you a BP.
