Starlite from Australia is listed at AUS 2060 which is about USD 1000.
The sector upgrades cost AUD 625 each so two are needed for EWR-ARN and CPH-BKK. That's a total of about USD 600.
I'm not sure if the coupons will still be available. I've bought them in the past and according to SAS they are an oddity that is only available in Australia. I've heard of people who are travelling to Australia from Sweden buying an economy class ticket and then sending that ticket to Australia by mail to get the upgrade coupons attached.
SAS out of Australia also sell a combined economy/business ticket to Europe:
Introducing the SAS Business Combination Fare An innovative fare concept that combines Economy and Business Class return travel from Australia to Europe.
Fly Economy Class from Australia to Asia on one of our partner airlines. Then experience the comfort of SAS Business Class from Asia to Copenhagen, plus one free sidetrip in Business Class to more than 80 European cities.
Business Combination fares start from A$3,410 (A$ 3,350 ex Perth). Also available on the SAS Europe Special via Tokyo from A$ 3,190.
An economy class ticket costs around AUD 1815 on SAS. With two upgrade vouchers, that becomes AUD 3065 - about the same as the above fare.
The biggest problem right now is that booking class(V) is already sold out on the direct flight

There are still seats left on all other 3 flights to Scandinavia.
Starlite from Australia for only 1000USD? Thats like 50% off the price out of Sweden which I thought was cheap
Have I understood you correctly if you could fly SYD-BKK with TG in Economy and then BKK-CPH-MXP in business RT for just around 1840$?
This would give you 33.400 EuroBonus points which is almost a silver card(could be a silver card depending on where you live)
