I see this as the root of the problem.....especially those on Flyertalk. They expect to holiday for free.

Easter Island and South America in general is being invaded by thousands of bang for your buck tourists due to the Chase BA mile promotion. They want to travel as cheaply as possible so are probably naive to think that every country south of the US must be cheap to visit. S America used to be a travellers destination now the bucket and spade brigade are coming with some wrong pre-conceived ideas on what value they'll get for their dollar.

When I was younger Scandinavia was horrendously expensive for UK visitors. I wanted to travel there so tailored my holiday to suit my budget. I flew to CPH on a discount fare and took my bike and camping gear along with me. Best holidays I ever had. ^
