I disagree. My first 3 trips to BUE were in the late 90s. The US$/AR$ were 1 to 1. Hotel prices were a la New York City pricing. Food and transport were reasonable but no bargain. And yet, it was a top destination.

Indeed......Argentina is still a very good value destination for many. If you want cheap then I'm sure you can still find it here but don't expect to get 5* quality on the cheap.
Are you not the same OP who advised N American flyers to take their own food to Easter Island rather than buy it there?
