This is not unprecedented - some AAdvantage members still have miles ("Miles with no expiration") that I believe can still be redeemed at 1989 (!) rates.
I agree 100% with this, in that they
should have provided a notice period, at the old rates, once the new ones were advertised.
It would have cost BA little, yet removed much of the bad feeling that now justifiably exists with many members.
