MCI-MAD Maximizing mileage?
Have an impromptu trip to MAD and wanted to maximize mileage for the money. Looking to spend 5-8 nights.

Played with ITA and all in AA (Gold Challenge, perhaps?), came up with MCI-ORD-DFW-MAD-ORD-DFW-MCI for $714. All O, sadly. 12/7 to 12/14.

I don't have status with any airline but I believe I could get Gold with AA with this +10K trip? If there is a better fare, screw the mileage, I'd like to save money. If I could get some sort of challenge with DL or CL, I would also be open to it.

Thanks a lot.

P.S. I'm not a US citizen. So looking to avoid returns via JFK or MIA. Too much trouble.
