Yes, there was a posting where the FA said no, but that is not following the policy that is also posted up-thread. Once the door is closed, any seat (in same class) is fair game. If FA says otherwise, ask for purser and hope they know the policy.
FAs on power trips need to be retrained, plain and simple.
