To tip, or not to tip (airport personnel aiding disabled)?

My disabled sister in law, (uses sticks) is flying into BOS on her way to LAX for Christmas. AA have noted that she will need assistance. Her question is, should she tip the airline staff in BOS, or maybe the cart driver who gets her to the gate for the onward connection ? Thanks.
