I rented a passenger van from an independent company in Bangkok and I had no problems. I was involved in a minor crash on a bridge and there was a small scrape on the side and tire damage. The insurance covered the scrape but not the tire damage as it was not included in the contract. The damage amounted to a few hundred dollars which I felt was reasonable. Unfortunately I don't remember the name of the company I rented from. I want to rent another vehicle when I go return.
