I have been making connections in DTW a lot lately, and for the past few weeks have been on DL2240 at 6:35am. .As GM, I don't expect even a chance at an upgrade, as this seems to be an extremely heavy Medallion flight. .I booked a Y fare about a week ago and tried to upgrade with miles but of course no F seats were left for upgrade.

Somehow I end up clearing an upgrade to F a day and a half in advance! .What gives?! .There were 52 people on the upgrade list at the gate, and I saw at least 10 PM's walk by to coach.

I thought the ultimate upgrade priority was Medallion status, then by fare class? .Was this just a fluke? By no means am I complaining, just trying to figure this one out!
