I only managed to get thru 20 pages of the thread... That's very bad of BA but seems common with strikes.

Years ago my father (who was a VERY inexperienced flyer, maybe 10 flights total) was caught in a LH strike at FRA. LH told him to take a hike and come back the next day. I have no idea how he got the idea, but he literally ran to the train and T2, showed his LH award paper ticket, and flew on the BA B767 with no endorsements whatsoever.
