Christmas dinner at Waikiki with Family - Suggestions?

Hi. We're staying two nights at Halekulani this year while transiting in HNL, inclusive of Christmas night.

I'm reconsidering my options for dinner on Christmas evening. We will be traveling with our two kids, aged 8 and 5.

At present, we have a booking at La Mer (the fine dining option at Halekulani). Their official policy is 8 years old and up. But, since we are staying at the hotel, they agreed to waive the minimum age for an early booking (5:30pm).

Something isn't sitting well with me about this. My kids eat at high end restaurants often enough and they are well behaved...I can't put my finger on it, but something doesn't feel right in light of their (albeit waived) minimum age rules.

The concierge at Halekulani offered up one or two other suggestions, but then steered me back to the in-house restaurant and offered up the age waiver.

I've made a backup booking at Nobu for the moment (our kids are sushi eaters.)

I'd be interested in receiving any recommendations as to other high-end dining options we could consider. Is Nobu ok for raw-fish-eating kids? Other recommendations? (We'd like to stay within the Waikiki area.)

Appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks.
