You are obviously easily pleased, I'm not and have huge issues with the brand new, always tiny, spartan, prefabricated European HIXs with paper thing walls and doors.
As they're usually cheap its fine, but they're really just a step above a tent and should be compared to Travelodge/Motel 6/Formule 1/Etap and premiere.

As usual you are telling us a lot of bullocks without giving any evidence.
Post a link to any HIX in Europe which has suites or is even remotely close to those 4 I mentioned above.

As far as the internet is concerned, it's still really expensive, and the latest trend seem to be lumping together internet and movies, i.e. £28/$40 for a movie and internet package (HIX Walsall, HI Runcorn, CP MAN)
I have no interest in watching movies watsoever so for me it really is worse than ever,
