Lesson learned. In hindsight I would've done DXB-USA thru Europe
on LH or Swiss.
Depends on your priorities. For some of us, UA direct overnight to arrive the following morning at IAD is far preferable--soft product aside--to switching flights in the early hours of the morning in Europe and extending the total travel time by hours to do so.
